The Queensland Cockatiel Breeders Society Inc. is a non-profit organisation that was formed in 2007 by a group of people who wanted to be a part of a society that focused on the breeding and show standardization of the Australian native Cockatiel in line with the wild type, and provided support and education to anyone who owns a cockatiel, whether they are a pet owner or breeder.
Our objectives are:-
# to promote and improve the breeding standardization of Cockatiels in captivity.
# to encourage and educate members and the general public on the keeping of Cockatiels in all aspects.
# to promote a friendly atmosphere between association members and other avicultural organizations.
Our club meetings are held in conjunction with our Show and Sale days. We hold three shows per year, one in Autumn, Winter & Spring. Our shows are open not only to our members, but to the general public as well being able to bench their birds in either the Pet or Novice categories (conditions apply, for more details please use the contact us page of this website).
Our show and sale days are events that cater to all aspects of aviculture including display stands from very prominent and well known avian companies as well as providing a selection of quality species of parrots for sale. We also encourage other avian clubs to join in on the events of the day and to work with us to help and educate all who have an interest in aviculture.
